Bold Rooms!

We've gone through almost all the colors of the rainbow this month so now it's time to look at what happens when we through a bunch of those colors around and see what sticks.

What I like here is that you can take an otherwise pretty sedate room and really make it great with just that shower curtain.  A relatively inexpensive way to make a white room pop.

I really like the pinky color with the goldy colors - This veers into little old territory but it's like that super chic grandma that you want to be when you grow up.

I love ALL the colors in combination here, who would think that you could take brown, add a black and white rug, mix in a little bright blue and pink and green and get something great.  But it works really well.

If you don't want to do anything else doing something unexpected with your door is awesome.

I do not have the chutzpah to do this (well...maybe I do) but I love it.

Again, not a combination you might think would really work, and there are a lot of patterns going on here, but it turns out great.

Look at all the freaky deaky stuff on that little vanity.  Awesome.

This is Kathy Ireland.  I love this room.  Million Dollar decorators is coming back soon and I can't wait.

How much do you love the idea of using surf boards as decor?

This is so preppy and cool. Love the old fashioned bowling pins.

Red and green are sort of a weird combination - but sometimes it works.  I have a red and green combination going on in my house and I kind of dig it.  Even though I think it would probably give Jeff Lewis a heart attack.

This carpet is so excellent.  And I adore that painting too.  Basically this whole house rocks.

I like the combination of blue and orange here.  Orange is tricky to work with so this is a genius idea.

I feel like I've blogged this before.  But if I have it's only because I super duper dig this room. It's kinda girly I admit, but it's really great.

This is a great pallet

Something about this color combination is very retro chic

Ditto here - I don't know why but red and blue always reminds me a little of the 1960s of my childhood

Love that deep blue with the coral

Isn't this a fun color scheme?

Very elegant, these are honestly my two favorite colors

I love this combination with the blondewood floors.

So decadent.  I would love to live in this room.

More sedate, but I love all the different pastels mixed together.

And now for your moment of room zen...

If these rooms don't make you happy or inspire you to feel relaxed and like life is going to be alright, I don't know how to help you.

A Country Fair Wedding Celebration

For our wedding celebration of my son, with the help of many friends we did a backyard shindig, complete with a darling country bunting banner, little miniature ferris wheels on the food serving table, mason jars with daisies, balloons, cotton candy, caramel apples, popcorn, cookies, cupcakes and ice cream.  It was all delicious and beautiful.
